Product Rating: ★★★★★★★★★★ (10/10)
Fast-absorbing, lightweight, hydrating dry oil for all ages and skin types. Potent anti-aging and skin rejuvenating benefits. Maybe added to other products to boost benefits. Includes RHSO (Rose Hip Seed Oil), Essential Fatty Acids, Anti-Aging Actives, Skin-Brightening Promoters Antioxidants and Gatuline In-tense.(Source: msteves.com)
Experience/Skin Type: Lightweight dry oil with no added fragrance.
FYI: Dermatologist Tested. 96.7% Natural. 100% Vegan. No Parabens. No petrochemicals. No GMOs. No Phthalates. Wheat & Gluten Free. No Synthetic Dyes or Fragrance. No Animal Testing. Recyclable. (Source: msteves.com)
Key Ingredients: RHSO (Rose Hips Seed Oil) The natural compounds in RHSO result in not only deeply nourished skin, but a smoother and more refined feeling skin texture, even after just one use. In fact, RHSO is shown to generally have a higher content of essential fatty acids than other natural oils such as argan and grapeseed oil. And because RHSO is a dry oil, it is highly absorbent with a silky finish. (Source: msteves.com)
Quick Review: Rose Hip Seed Oil is my favorite facial oil for smoothing, firming and beautifying skin. It also soothes irritation and can be added successfully to other skin care products and foundation.
I’ve been a big fan of facial oils for a while now, even if I have borderline oily skin and prone to breakouts. Rose Hip Seed Oil in particular is one of my favorites and has been the most successful at refining the look of my skin all around. When I found M. Steves Skin Care, which is based around the renewing properties of Rose Hip Seed Oil (RHSO) – I was very excited and hopeful that it would take my skin to the next level.
A Little About RHSO – Rose Hip Seed Oil (RHSO), derived from the seeds of rose bushes native to the Andes mountains of South America, is the signature global ingredient in the M. Steves RHSO Power-Packed line of products. RHSO has long been heralded as the “youth in a bottle” for its skin rejuvenating and anti-aging properties. (Source: msteves.com)
The first time I tried Rose Hip Seed Oil was NOW Rose Hip Seed OIl. I read that it was good for rosacea, acne and eczema – which are all concerns of mine. One of my other favorite oils is Ole Henriksen Pure Truth Vitamin C Youth Activating Oil ($45, sephora.com) which combines RHSO with citrus oils. While these are both wonderful products, I’ve been the most successful with M.Steves Ultra Nourshing Boost. Its more refined that the NOW and simpler than Pure Truth.
Trying to convince someone with oily skin to use a facial oil is very difficult and understandably so. If you have oily skin or prone to acne, start by using it at night. Just pat a tiny bit around the areas that you have fine lines. Skin is softer, smoother and calm in the morning. Those who prefer a more traditional cream, may want to try the M.Steves Multi-Benefit Moisturizer ($46, msteves.com) which includes RHSO in a lightweight cream base – gentle enough to use around the eyes. You can also add a few drops of the Boost to the Moisturizer, other creams/lotions, foundation and even to your under eye concealer (just a touch).
Whatever way you choose to use it, your skin will be glowing glowing glowing in a matter of days. Its so gently, I use it on my kids cheeks when they get dry, their eczema (healing stage) and under my eyes. I’ve tried many different oils and combinations or oils – but this is one of my favorites for everyday use. Its a bit pricey at $64, but the pump bottle makes it easy to dispense and you use so little per application, a bottle could easily last you at least 6-8 months moderate daily use.
M.Steves Ultra Nourishing Boost is addictive and delivers reliable results quickly. All skin types can benefit from the RHSO and adding the Multi-Benefit Moisturizer creates a simple, customizable skin care routine that covers all skin woes. Gives results better than other products 3x their price.
M.STEVES ULTRA-NOURISHING BOOST INGREDIENTS: Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Seed Oil, Spilanthes Acmella Flower Extract, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, BHT.
HOW TO USE: Massage a few drops directly onto clean face, neck and décolleté in an upward motion. Add a few drops directly to other products to boost their hydrating and nourishing properties, as desired, to allow for real-time customization.

Tatcha INDIGO Soothing Renewal Treatment & Collection Review
$98 / .5 fl.oz. indigo jar | tatcha.com
Product Rating: ★★★★★★★★★☆ (9/10)
Rich in anti-inflammatory Indigo, liquid Silk and Squalane, TATCHA’s INDIGO Soothing Renewal Treatment Cream softens and soothes irritated skin.
Experience/Skin Type: Rich balm/cream with mild herbal scent. Suitable for any skin type, especially sensitive, inflamed or irritated skin consistent with symptoms of dermatitis and eczema.
Key Ingredients: The stems, leaves and petals of the Indigo plant are steeped in water and fermented to make a concentrated botanical extract. Tryptanthrin and indirubin actives help reduce irritation and promote skin’s natural healing abilities. Due to the natural botanical extract, the shade of Indigo may vary; the efficacy of the formulation remains the same. (Source: tatcha.com)
Quick Review: Magic in a jar, this blue creamy balm gently alleviates annoying skin conditions like dry, itchy skin and helped to heal my daughter’s eczema.
Evologie Stay Clear Cleanser is a soothing foaming gel cleanser uses willow bark extract, chamomile, honey and lycopene to gently restore skin’s natural pH balance, remove bacteria and unclog pores. This works wonders on keeping my 40+ year old skin clear of annoying adult acne without over-drying or irritation. In fact, skin looks so healthy & glowing – you forget its for acne prone skin!
This is not a makeup remover – and because of its purpose, should not be used around the eyes. For best results, use a separate makeup remover then wash with Evologie. I don’t use this all the time – it can get drying if you don’t have particularly oily skin or live in a drier climate. When I feel a hormonal breakout pending – I use this as my PM wash with the Evologie Stay Clear Cream (don’t bother using this in the daytime – it pills) and wake to clearer, fresh skin. Its a great emergency fix – and may be a good choice for those that need to control breakouts but don’t want to dry out their skin.
EVOLOGIE STAY CLEAR CLEANSER INGREDIENTS: WATER (AQUA), DECYL GLUCOSIDE, COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE, GLYCERIN, AZELAIC ACID, ARGININE ETHYL ESTER, SALICYLIC ACID, LACTOBACILLUS/LYCOPENE FERMENT EXTRACT, CHAMOMILLA RECUTITA (MATRICARIA) FLOWER EXTRACT, HONEY EXTRACT/MEL EXTRACT, SALIX NIGRA (WILLOW BARK) EXTRACT, LEUCONOSTOC/RADISH ROOT FERMENT FILTRATE, SODIUM CARBOMER, PHENOXYETHANOL, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, XANTHAN GUM, DISODIUM EDTA, SORBIC ACID, SODIUM C8-16 ISOALKYLSUCCINYL LACTOGLOBULIN SULFONATE, BUTYLENE GLYCOL
DIRECTIONS: Massage a dime-sized amount into skin until it forms a gentle lather..Rinse off and pat skin dry. Follow with moisturizer.

Key Ingredients: 100% natural. Pecans, almonds, rose petals, honey, glycerin, jojoba oil, peppermint and lavender.

1.1 The Betty Polish | Review
A savory, multi-purpose facial cleanser with a warm, rich aroma of vanilla almond.
PRICE DETAILS: $65 for 100g (about 3.4 oz.) $$$$
PRESENTATION: Miron Violett Glass – naturally filters out UV rays more effectively than amber glass.
TEXTURE & SCENT: A bit more aggressive – 1.1 The Betty Polish has a grittier, more coarse texture than most scrubs – but when used as directed (to betty thy self – love), isn’t overly harsh. The vanilla almond scent (from vanilla planifolia fruit oil) is divine and warrants scrubbing your whole body with this concoction.
SKIN TYPE: All Skin Types. I suggest sensitive, acne prone and those with rosacea to consider the Betty & Ko 2.7 Anderson Grains instead.
KEY FEATURES: Raw organic sugar and oatmeal in a Sweet Almond and Grapeseed Oil base removes face makeup and dull skin.
QUICK REVIEW: There is something mighty addictive about this scrub! It smells like oatmeal cookies, has a nourishing oil base (if you’re opposed to oils – it takes getting used to…but I LOVE IT) and buffs away tired, sad skin in a heartbeat.
When a Lotion Isn’t a Lotion | La Mer The Treatment Lotion Review
When you hear the term “lotion” in regards to cosmetics – most of us automatically think of a fluid moisturizer. In fact, “lotion” (or essence) can also mean a semi-toning step (although its decidedly not a toner) – a mysterious 3rd step preceding moisturizer. The concept has been long used in Asia to essentially flood the skin with moisture – which allows following treatments to be more effective.
Its no secret that La Mer products are some of the most luxurious in the world – and using the substantial original cream means saying au revoir to dry skin. Introducing The Treatment Lotion ($125) into my routine proved no exception to La Mer’s lasting reputation. Truthfully, I almost didn’t want to put anything on top of this smoothing, fluid elixir – skin is instantly calmer, softer and prettier in general.
Do you need another step? After I turned 40, my skin has been significantly more dry and sensitive on top of still being oily with slight breakouts. By pressing this lightweight syrup-like lotion into my skin after cleansing and toning – I no longer felt the need to use heavier creams and my serums absorbed easily and glided over my skin. So while this added an extra minute to my PM routine – the results were well worth it.
: If you start to look dull or dry by mid-afternoon, take a small amount of lotion in your hands and press over sad-looking areas for instantly happier skin. I even use my fingertips to freshen under my eye area.
Other Lotions & Essences: SK-II Facial Treatment Essence ($100-$275), Estee Lauder Nutritious Energy Lotion ($50), Fresh Creme Ancienne Infusion Treatment Toner ($90), The Face Shop Chia Seed Watery Lotion ($25).
Simple is not the adjective I’d use to describe my approach to skin care. So the idea of using only two products is (to quote my favorite movie) “inconceivable”. How can you possibly achieve clear, glowing skin without a counter top full of bottles, tubes and jars?
Mèreadesso (a combination of mother, now, woman) as a brand, simply consists of five multitasking products including the All-In-One Moisturizer (aka Mereadesso Face + Neck Toning Gel) and Face + Neck Cleanser.
Color me skeptical, but I approached this review with caution – ready to ditch the experiment all together if even one little breakout appeared. The results? Aside from my utter amazement – clearer, calmer, glowing, glorious skin after one week. I’m not quite ditching my other products – but these two bottles have earned a long standing spot on my vanity.
IN THIS POST: My amazement, ingredient lists, two steps to glowing skin, before & after shots.

Boscia Konjac Cleansing Sponge | Review & Dupe List
Konjac is a pure vegetable fiber made from the Japanese plant/root Konnyaku (こんにゃく) also known in Korea as Gonyak. Its been used in Asia for its health properties for over 1500 years. These 100% natural, purified sponges have a unique gel-like fiber texture that exfoliates, removes impurities and its natural alkalinity helps to balance acidity. My husband also eats it (the edible version) with shoyu and rice.
BOSCIA KONJAC CLEANSING SPONGE is the first I’ve seen for the US market. Similar products are available – most sourced from Asia or Europe. At $18 – Boscia’s price is unjustifiable, since the product is made from only pure Konjac. I’ve actually been using the charcoal version from THE FACE SHOP for a while now – so I knew there was a less pricey option out there.
