SKIN TYPE: All Skin Types. Especially Dry & Mature.
BEST FOR: Those who want a the effects of a milky cleanser with the benefits of a light foam.
QUICK REVIEW: With its pleasant scent and mild foaming action, while not a top cleanser pick, Suki Creamy Foaming Cleanser is a nice gentle cleanser for drier skin types who want a vegan/organic option.
the REVIEW(Original Post: 08/31/10): Suki’s Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser is one of my favorite products, however, I find it a little too aggressive to be used everyday. I adore its lemon drop scent (and not from a synthetic fragrance) and it makes my skin very smooth and happy. Being a cleanser addict, I had to try the Creamy Foaming Cleanser with hopes it could be the alternate to the Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser (EFC).
The Creamy Foaming Cleanser has a “creamy” foam – not a high sudsing foam, much like the Z. Bigatti Champagne Gel Cleanser or Philosophy Purity Made Simple. A small amount does the job and while it doesn’t rinse “squeaky clean” , I didn’t feel like it left a residue. Skin was left soft and smooth – without a hint of dryness. Luckily, it has a similar citrus scent as the EFC, with added benefits of acai (anti-oxidant) and apple extract (mild exfoliation).
This cleanser does not remove heavy makeup. In my opinion, that’s not a cleanser’s job. If you wear heavy makeup, you need to use a makeup and/or eye makeup remover first. If you just wear a light foundation (like mineral foundation) then it should be just fine alone. However, I still recommend using a two-step cleansing routine at night to thoroughly cleanse and prep skin for treatment.
Overall, Suki Creamy Foaming Cleanser is a lovely product, especially if you are looking to use products from a very detail oriented eco-conscious company. I want to say I love this just based on those merits, but it’s not the first cleanser I reach for on a regular basis. That’s not to say that it won’t work its way into my permanent routine! After all, its scrubbier sister, Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser is one of my all time favorites!
UPDATE (12/30/2010): As fabulous as this product was, it did not have enough charisma to work its way into my daily routine. I may purchase a full size product to alternate with the Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser when I’m out of my current favorites. Switching to primarily organic or vegan products would be ideal, but I’m not sure I can commit to that.
