There aren’t many beauty programs that offer such great incentives. Bloom Circle (Note: Bloom Circle is now BLOOM.COM) is an up and coming beauty program that offers some of the most popular cosmetic brands (Peter Thomas Roth, OPI, Tigi, Covergirl) and brands that are for those in the “know” (Jan Marini, Ren, Sircuit Skin) – just to name a few. Besides their unique collection of quality products, Bloom Circle gives members 10% back in Bloom Dollars on all purchases. They have since discontinued daily gift with purchases – but offer a BloomBox deal which allows you to try several different products that are supposed to be based on your beauty profile.
MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH BLOOM CIRCLE (ORDER DATE: 02/25/2011): After submitting several reviews, I automatically got $10 in Bloom Dollars just for signing up. Another $20 was awarded for submitting 5 reviews. The current reward is $40 in Bloom Dollars for new members to sign up and spend $40 by March 15, 2011. Since they are a new program, the incentives to sign up are probably the best right now.
For my first order, I got the Babor HY-OL Cleanser, Babor Cleansing Phytoactive for Combination Skin, 3 Samples (Babor HY-OL & Phytoactive Base Cleanser, Dr. Dennis Gross Extra Strength Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel, Babor HSR Lifting Cream) and Cellex-C High Potency Serum (gwp). With my $30 in Bloom Dollars, I got $160 in product + samples + free shipping for $30! Plus I got $2.40 in Bloom Dollars for the $30 I spent. The package arrived on time, accurate and neatly wrapped. Overall, a wonderful experience.
MY SECOND EXPERIENCE WITH BLOOM CIRCLE (ORDER DATE: MAY 31, 2011): This time I ordered a full size Sircuit Skin Savior Cleanser and 3 trial size Sircuit Skin products. I did not use my Bloom Dollars for this order and got an additional $40 in Bloom Dollars as part of their Memorial Day promotion. The only issue I have with Bloom is the shipping takes a long time (my order arrived on June 8) – but its free and I’m not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. Overall – happy with my purchase. I love Sircuit Skin and managed to save up more to get my Oraia serum.
MY RETURN EXPERIENCE: After trying it off an on for several months, I realized the Babor Cleansing Oil and Phytoactive Base were making me breakout – so I decided to return it. Not a problem. You just call customer service at 1-800-550-0857, they email you a RA (return authorization) label from UPS and you put it on your return and send it back. You also get your Bloom Dollars back if you used any on that purchase. And no, they don’t make you return the gift – but don’t take advantage of that. I will say their return policy is way better than Macy’s.
MY THIRD BLOOM PURCHASE (ORDER DATE: JUNE 25, 2011): I bit the bullet and ordered my Sircuit Skin Oraia Serum ($225) that I’ve been lemming since I tried a sample (its MAGIC – stay tuned for a review). Bloom was also offering a Member Faves gift that weekend that was worth $85 – one gift had some makeup the other (which I chose) had a Jan Marini primer and a Gilden Tree hand cream. I also qualified for the BloomBox worth at least $100. So I basically got $410 for $97.60 (I had $127.40 in Bloom Dollars). I’ll update when my order arrives and let you know if the BloomBox is worth it, although for me its just gravy since I didn’t have to spend $225 on one product.
Update: I finally got my order on July 5, 2011 and it was worth the wait. First I got my Sircuit Skin Oraia serum which was mostly paid for by my Bloom Dollar kitty. I also got a full sized Jan Marini primer and Gilden Tree hand cream as part of a weekend promotion. A nice selection of products – although I’m over eyelash conditioners (I have 4 of them already), its still a $99 valued FREE gift, so I’m not going to complain. The Zoya nail polish is also a very pretty shimmery silver/nude that I will actually use and is line with the new Fall Chanel polishes. The rest of the packets will get added to my packet stash – although I will try out the John Masters Styling Gel today. Overall, a nice FREE gift.
My FORTH BLOOM.COM PURCHASE (JULY 21, 2011): Bloom Circle was offering a $25 incentive on hair care, so I purchased the Pureology NanoWorks Mask for my crazy dry hair. After contacting them on July 25, I was told it was discontinued (sour face). I guess because I’ve been a Bloom member from early on, its been interesting watching them go through changes. While the BloomBox incentive is nice and quite generous, I miss the daily GWP offers – or at least the weekend offers – call me a control freak, but I like to know what I’m getting. Anyway, so I got an email saying I could take a refund and lose my BloomDollar incentive – or take an alternative. I think they should refund my money and let me keep the BloomDollar incentive ($20) for the inconvinience, although I would be okay with a store credit and being able to keep the incentive. Maybe its a sign, because I’ve been having issues with my online orders! We’ll see what happens.
Update: BLOOM.COM is awesome. They refunded my money and let me keep the incentive. I did have to return the $6 in Bloom Dollars I received for my purchase – but that is way more than fair. Thank you BLOOM.COM!
