“A daily does of strengthening keratin in a gentle hair wash.” – Sephora

PRODUCT RATING: ★★★★★★★☆☆☆(7/10)

BEST FOR: Maintaining hair with professional keratin treatments. Does not have sodium chloride or sulfates.

HAIR TYPES: Most hair types, especially hair damaged by heat styling and the environment.

QUICK REVIEW: This is a highly effective peptide anti-aging cream – especially for those who just want to use one solid product.

the REVIEW (05/14/2011) : KeratinPerfect just released at Sephora this month (May 2011) and I purchased the PerfectRescue Intense Keratin Repair Serum and got a sample of this the PerfectCleanse to try with it. PerfectCleanse is the maintenance shampoo that goes with the KeratinPerfect regimen and should not be confused with the PerfectPrep Pre-Treatment Clarifying Shampoo that is used prior to the application of ThePerfector 30-Day Hair Smoothing Treatment.

PerfectCleanse is a pearly white shampoo with a mild floral scent which produces a rich foam. I have short/medium length hair that is very dull and damaged (why I cut it off) from over processing and this shampoo made my hair feel softer, but was nothing remarkable.

So why the 7 stars? I have to take price into consideration for this product. Ive been using the Organix Ever Straight Brazilian Keratin Therapy Shampoo and feel that it is a slightly better product for a little less than a forth the price per ounce of the PerfectCleanse. The Organix product was richer in texture and felt more moisturizing, even without a keratin treatment. Keratin is not a new ingredient – its basically a protein that’s found in skin, hair, hoofs, nails, claws…you get the picture, so its not a factor in the price. What you are primarily looking for in a shampoo for keratin treated hair is one that does not have sodium chloride or sulfates – and both formulas fit the bill, so why not save a few bucks and splurge on the treatment instead.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: PerfectCleanse Keratin Enhanced Shampoo replaces lost keratin with each wash, so every hair type stays smoother, longer. The nondrying, rich lather is free of such harsh ingredients as sodium chloride and sulfates, which can strip your hair of keratin and moisture. Use as the first step of your regular keratin therapy to maintain shine and smoothness.
DIRECTIONS: Apply to wet hair and scalp and work into lather. Rinse thoroughly. Follow with PerfectSilk Keratin Enhanced Conditioner.
