L’Oreal Extra-Intense Liquid Pencil Eyeliner in Carbon Black ($8.49). This isn’t a new favorite, I used up a pencil in Black – its the best for rimming the lower inner lash line. Spying this incredibly long-lasting pencil in Carbon Black which also came with a smudger, it was a no-brainer. The super black formula glides on, stays on and defines my eyes like nothing else. I also have this in Brown for when I want to keep it natural.
This drugstore buy works just as well as YSL Long Lasting Waterproof Eye Pencil ($25) and a dead-on dupe of Too Faced Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner ($18) right down to the smudger.
Dior Backstage Velvet Eyes Multi-Wear Adhesive Eyeliner Patches ($59).
“Designed by Dior makeup artists, the results of these velvet eyeliner appliqués are spectacular. Like a sticker or transfer tattoo, the designs range from the simplest matte-black to the most lavish, lacquered finish bedecked with sparkling Swarovski crystals.” – Sephora
This is likely a trend that I’ll pass on, but I admire the creativity and it probably looks incredible on the runway. Dior also released Backstage Brow Design Brow Shaping Stencils Kit ($40) and the Mitzah collection which features rich, golden brown tones. The star product (IMO) is the 5 Couleurs Couture Colour Eyeshadow Palette in Mitzah ($60) – which has 5 colors I would actually wear together. Also available: Dior Mitzah Panther Eyeshadow – Jungle Print ($90), DiorShow Mascara in Mitzah ($24.50). All products currently available at Sephora.com.
Violent Lips Glitteratti Temporary Lip Tattoos ($15 for 3 appliques).
“This innovative line of temporary lip appliqués will keep the glitter on your lips and out of your mouth with its smooth feel and glossy finish. The vitamin-enhanced appliqués last four to eight hours and are easy to apply to lips of all sizes.” – Sephora
Okay, what is with the plastic stick-on makeup? While this is another trend I probably will skip, this definitely gets the “Neat-o” flag and is something I would consider for Halloween. They have lots of different designs on their website: ViolentLips.com and some fun candy designs at SugarFactory.com. At about $15 for a set of 3, these unique temporary lip tattoos are sure to be noticed.
After abusing my hair – I’ve resigned to cutting it until its back to normal. Besides getting regular trims and sticking to darker hair color, I want to try Carol’s Daughter Olive Oil Infusion At-Home Treatment in conjunction with her Monoi Repairing line and Black Vanilla Moisturizing Sulfate-Free Shampoo. The scent of Carol’s Daughter products are always incredible, leaning toward the sweet and herbal and they also work wonders on dry, damaged hair like mine.
