WEEK OF DECEMBER 19, 2011
I’ve been a very good girl this year. Okay – so not ‘very good‘, but pretty good all things considering. There’s just one thing I’m wishing for this year – besides an iPad. Please bring me a big blob of this lovely Buche de Noel from LUSH that I fell in love with last year. The yummy brandy, cranberry and almond scented joy for the face has left me longing for its scrubly goodness all year!
While you’re at it, I’m also out of It’s Raining Men.
Happy Faces! ♥ Jenn

MY FIX PICKS FOR SEASON 13 (DECEMBER 2011 BEAUTY FIX)
JENN’S NOTE: I normally don’t get so fixated on a brand, but I simply go batty over LUSH products, especially during the holidays. Their creations are not only joyously made by people who look cute on a sticker, but incorporate incredibly unique ingredients that deliver equally joyous results. Merry LUSh-mas.
←LUSH Iced Wine Shower Jelly ($10.95 for 8.8oz, lushusa.com). You won’t be able to find this jiggly, juicy jar (don’t worry, it’s plastic) of jelly in stores this year, but before you say “Humbug!” its available online! This instantly became one of my favorite products last year as it has the same freshness of Snow Showers, but with a delicious twist of Ice Wine (the real thing), grapefruit and bergamot. A pinch of Iced Wine in my Japanese scrubby towel creates a frothy lather that softens without a hangover! Cheers!
→LUSH Pow Wow Lip Scrub ($8.95 for .9oz., lushusa.com). I swear the LUSH labs must be the cosmetic version of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. This practically edible lip scrub taste like a Wonka creation – but give you super smooth lips instead of cavities! As a super fun twist, this bright green scrub has real popping candy! For the less whimsical, it also has organic jojoba and rose hip oil to moisturize and stimulating caffeine powder…as if popping candy isn’t stimulating enough! Sure to put some snap in your pucker!
Once in awhile I’ll happen across a drugstore find that out performs a product 3x its price. Enter L’Oreal Clean Artiste Waterproof & Long Wearing Eye Makeup Remover ($6.49 for 4oz., drugstore.com). Similar to Lancome BiFacils, this duo-phase remover works quickly on even the heaviest waterproof makeup with zero stinging.
We all know that Salma Hayek is gorgeous – but I was surprised by how much I like Nuance Salma Hayek Anti-Aging Wrinkle Filler Eye Serum ($19.99 for .5oz, cvs.com). The roller ball is annoying, but the silky serum gives my tired eyes a quick lift and smooths out fine lines.
Here’s my favorite drugstore product for a manicure that will last through the endless gift wrapping.
This arrived in sample size via my December Birchbox – which has really impressed me with their diverse selection of products. It claimed to make you feel and smell 8-12 years younger! While this seemed crazy, this youthful pink grapefruit fruity floral fragrance has become an instant favorite and really makes me feel, well – younger and happier!
