MARCH 2012

Honestly Green. With a plethora of “green” key words (eco-friendly, natural, plant-based, certified organic, etc.) flooding the already confusing cosmetic market – its easy to get bamboozled into buying a product that isn’t necessarily more natural.
Look for the official USDA Certified Organic seal – “The United States Department of Agriculture awards its seal to products whose total contents are 100% certified organic, or whose total contents are 95% certified organic where the remaining 5% of contents are drawn from a small, select number of ingredients that are not organically grown, and pose no known risk to health or environment.”
Truly green products will also have complete lists of ingredients and have environmental and cruelty-free standards as well. Intelligent Nutrients and Suki are both companies that have a well balanced philosophy and products that are not only green – but glorious to use.
P.S. Happy Birthday to my husband who was born on St. Patrick’s Day♣!
Happy Faces!

♥ Tried It – Loved It.
QUICK REVIEWS: The Benefit Hello Flawless! (Sampled, Color: Beige) has a nice dewy, fresh finish and medium coverage. It might be a little too “dewy” for oilier skin. Colors also run fairly dark. Josie Maran Argan Matchmaker Powder Foundation SPF 20 has a very matte, smooth finish and the Light/Medium shade worked well on my skin tone. The powder is a little messy though – so I don’t think I will carry it in my handbag. The mattifying ability of Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation (Sampled, Color: Beige) was pretty amazing and kept my skin naturally matte through most of the day. If you are shiny, you still need a touch of powder over it.
←DEBORAH LIPPMANN NAIL LACQUER IN MERMAID’S DREAM ($18, lippmanncollection.com). I’ve been searching high and low for the perfect Spring Green nail polish and this glittered seafoam splendor was love at first sight. Deborah Lippmann lacquers are possible one of my favorites for unique colors and overall formulation.
→DEBORAH LIPMANN NAIL LACQUER IN CANDY SHOP ($18, lippmanncollection.com). Originally available in a set, this ridiculously cute shade appeals to my inner child. Its like cotton candy with rainbow sprinkles and is like smiles and cupcakes in a bottle.
