“The 27 range is composed of 3 essential products for cleansing, moisturizing and regenerating demanding skin: Baume 27, Cleanser 27, Essence 27.” – Cosmetics 27
BRAND OVERVIEW: Cosmetics 27 is a simple, four product skin care routine created by Pharmacist Michele Evrard – based on the restorative and regenerative properties of the medicinal herb, Centella Asiatica. By utilizing the patented MA2 Complex (Asiatic Acid, Asiaticoside, Madecassoside – from Centella Asiatica), Cosmetics 27 aims to repair, restructure, regenerate, stimulate, protect, nourish, moisturize and soothe the skin.
In the realm of natural luxury cosmeceuticals, it is difficult to find products that feel good on the skin, produce results and warrant a 3 digit price tag. While I don’t think Cosmetics 27 is for everyone – those with dry, fatigued, aging skin will delight in this simple system which will undoubtedly yield unparalleled results in terms of skin regeneration and repair.

REVIEW: As a fan of cleansing balms, I found Cleanser 27 to be on the top end of my favorites. Rich in skin friendly oils, the cleanser transforms twice – from solid balm to rich oil on dry skin (massage for one minute), to milky emulsion once water is added. After rinsing thoroughly with warm water (I also use a baby washcloth), facial skin is left purified and calm.
The only disadvantage of this balm is it cannot be used around the eye area (I tried. Don’t do it.) which requires the use of an additional eye makeup remover. Most solid cleansing balms are not eye friendly (except for Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm) but provide the skin with a unique cleansing experience.
Double Duty Tip: This balm has the right amount of slip to give your face, neck and shoulders a revitalizing massage. Beauty Plus – decollete looks gleaming and fresh.

REVIEW: Formulated with a similar structure to the epidermis, Essence 27 is a light serum which penetrates quickly and effectively, leaving no residue on the skin. I found this serum to be incredibly comforting and hydrating enough on its own for day use. After using it for about 10 days, my skin was more balanced – it did not have much effect on pre-existing irritation but did not exacerbate the condition either.
Overall, this serum provides instant comfort and hydration to dry skin but is lightweight enough for oily skin. It also does not rely on dimethicone or other instant fillers that give the illusion of smoother skin – rather provides skin with anti-oxidants and proven hydrators to plump and actually improve skin.
Double Duty Tip: I apply a few drops and press into skin OVER makeup to instantly revive and refresh mid-day dreary face.

REVIEW: Baume 27 is a truly soothing face balm that feels a bit heavy on the skin – but delivers calm, lush skin by morning. With patented MA2 Complex, this repairing moisturizer utilizes 27 key ingredients to repair, restructure, regenerate, stimulate, protect, nourish, moisturize and soothe skin.
While I normally prefer a lighter weight product, having a repair product (like La Mer The Moisturizing Cream) when skin is extra dry, irritated or sunburned is a must have. When used in conjunction with Essence 27, this rich cream/balm creates a repairative cocoon on the skin which encourages healing. It does have a slightly sticky texture and did not work well under makeup on my combination skin (I opted to use the Essence 27 on its own in the daytime) but when used in areas of concern (around the orbital bone and dry patches) or all over as a night cream, it brought skin back to a more healthy state within 10 days.
Baume 27 is an amazing product for those who need extra care and repair. I will definitely be adding this to my routine as a stand-by for when my skin is irritated or dry. For those who live in windy, extremely dry or cold areas – this would be a must-have year round to protect and heal skin and prevent environmental aging. While pricey, a tiny bit does wonders for specific skin conditions and is a reliable product.
Double Duty Tip: This rich balm makes a wonderful cuticle cream and a tiny bit mixed into concealer helped it glide on and stay moist.
