QUICK REVIEW: The iconic M∙A∙C Spice Lip Pencil in a precisely matching lipstick, lip gloss and nail polish gives you 3 new ways to love the perfect nude.
the REVIEW: There are few products in the cosmetic industry that have become genuine icons. Alongside new classics like NARS Orgasm blush, M∙A∙C Spice is one of the ultimate and original nudes that every professional makeup artist and housewife has in their makeup bag. It was only natural for coordinated products to show up.
I will say that M∙A∙C Lip Liner in Spice is NOT one of my favorite colors. I prefer a taupe-d out nude like M∙A∙C Stripdown (a creamy brown-beige) since Spice is a little brighter than my natural lip color. However, the Satin Lipstick, Lipglass and Nail Lacquer in the M∙A∙C’s Fashion Sets Collection in Spice are fresh, slightly brightened nudes that will compliment most skin tones.
The warm nude shades are spot-on matches to the original, making it easy to seamlessly blend lip liner, lipstick and gloss into a flawless lip. The products can be paired liner+gloss, liner+lipstick, liner+lipstick+gloss or individually to create various depths of colors and textures. I like to wear the lipstick on the outer edges and blend the Lipglass into it to give the illusion of a fuller lip without a definite lip line.
Spice Nail Lacquer is one of the prettiest Summer pedicure options since it looks lovely with a golden tan. Its a semi-sheer richly shaded warm pink nude without any shimmer, but manages to brighten up any skin tone. The sheer qualities give it a modernized finish.
the FINAL ROAR: While the coordinated lip/nail can sometimes look overdone, these classic MAC shades work incredibly well together, creating beautiful semi-monochromatic options.
Also available in Myth (light neutral nude), Snob (light neutral pink), Girl About Town (bright blue fuchsia), Russian Red (intense blue-ish red), Rebel (midtonal cream plum) and Chestnut (rich chocolate brown).
