the REVIEW: Since my wardrobe primarily consists of black tank tops and loose linen pants, I can safely and confidently claim that from the neck down, I am NOT a fashionista. However, I still love Rachel Zoe. In all her “I die”, “Bananas”, “Shut it down” Chanel covered glory, I think she’s a peach. When I found out she was the Exude brand ambassador, I had to check them out.

Much like a 4 inch stiletto, I am not comfortable in a opaque, perfectly drawn lip. Whether you choose Exude Lip Creme (sheer/medium coverage with glossy finish) or Exude Lip Gloss (sheer coverage with high gloss finish) – the application is more like a tinted, fluid balm than a traditional waxy lipstick. I die (LOL). The effect is a smoother smoocher that still has enough color to brighten up any look. Its the equivalent of a sexy heel that you could run a marathon in.

Can we talk about the packaging for a moment? What makes Exude products unique is the mega-chic matte white tubes that twist tiny bits of product up (and down) a smooth, clear plastic applicator tip. While I struggled to get a smooth application in the beginning, I realized that you only need to dispense a tiny spot of product on the top and bottom lip before using the applicator to smooth on the color. Instead of lip liner, I also opted to use a clean lip brush to really fine tune and blend the edges. If you extract too much product, you can retract the product back into the tube by twisting the bottom in the opposite direction. Did I mention they come individually boxed? I adore the extra attention to detail and the boxes make great organizer trays for your little makeup items!

The only “con” I can see with this product, aside from being quite pricy for those accustomed to drugstore price tags, is the formula may be too fluid for those prone to bleeding lip lines. A quick application of a neutral or matching lip liner should remedy that in no time.
the FINAL ROAR!: These deliciously minty white tubes of glossy loveliness have become one of my favorite lip products…ever. I love how they look (both as a product and on the lips) and how they feel (no sticky goop). You can wear them alone or use them to tweak your existing colors (a spot of Plum looks pretty when blended with too-pale nudes). I recently purchased Crimson Gloss (a lovely sheer shimmery red/plum) and will love to add Brown#4 and Rosy Brown Lip Creme to my wardrobe. Needless to say, I’m addicted!
