THE FACE SHOP IS NOW OPEN IN WARD WAREHOUSE IN HONOLULU, HAWAII
If you haven’t visited The Face Shop in the McCully Shopping Center, there is now a 2nd location conveniently located in Ward Warehouse! I was invited to their Tweetup Grand Opening party last night and it was an amazing and beautifully done event – complete with champagne (and beer), hors d’oeuvres, the cutest The Face Shop cake pops, gift bags and a generous discount (Thanks Tom!) for attendees. Toby Tamaye of AT Marketing and the rest of The Face Shop team did an excellent job.
THE SHOP → The relatively small space is well utilized and well stocked with an impressive array of skin care, cosmetics, hair and body products and accessories. The store is brightly lit, clean and like a candy store for adults. The staff are sweet and helpful without being pushy – plus products have English descriptions and ingredient lists which make shopping a pleasant experience.
WHAT TO CHECK OUT → In The Face Shop, you will find some of the cutest packaging since Hello Kitty. My favorite is the Mini Pet Perfume Hand Cream ($8) that have little animals peeking out of the pot. The cream itself is ultra-light and mildly scented – but the cuteness will certainly get lots of attention. Coreen Lee of Moxie Productions was at the event, and we both agree that the Milk Plus Strawberry Shower Milk and Lotion ($11 each) smelled like strawberry candy and were too cute and yummy to pass up.
Don’t let the cuteness fool you. The Face Shop also has a variety of skin care products like the new CHIA SEED WATERY LOTION ($24) that utilizes organic chia for incredibly light, but effective hydration and SMIM PORE FINISH ESSENCE ($52) which has fermented balsamic vinegar and kefir to tighten and fill pores. The CLEAN FACE CLEAR AWAY SPOT ($16) has calamine, salicylic acid and tee tree extract to dry up break outs without the sulfur (Kate Somerville and Mario Badescu versions both contain sulfur – which works great for acne, but gives me a rash).
The Face Shop also offers an impressive selection of sheet masks – serum infused cloth-like masks that addresses a variety of skin issues. I chose REAL NATURE MASK RICE & MUNG BEAN ($2 each) and CLEAN FACE SEBUM CONTROL SOOTHING MASK SHEET ($3) – they are really like instant mini facials. TIP: Use them at night in place of your skin care – remove before you fall asleep – and wake up to gloriously hydrated skin.
As you can see, I love THE FACE SHOP. I will always adore Asian packaging and concepts, plus its an affordable way to get a beauty product fix without breaking the bank.
