QUICK REVIEW: The ultimate luxury in lip gloss, TOM FORD ULTRA SHINE LIP GLOSS ($45, neimanmarcus.com) in Wet Violet offers good color saturation, long wear, smooth texture and gorgeous packaging. Basically everything you want a lip gloss to be. Prestige priced at $45, it is one of the most expensive lip glosses on the market, passed only by Sisley ($55) and Cle de Peau ($48).

Wet Violet is an über chic deep violet/plum shade with an infinitesimal hint of sparkle (you see it in the tube more than on the lips). The translucency and rich texture makes this easy to wear on its own in a thicker layer or as a more natural hint of color and shine. It did not bleed (though I must note that isn’t a huge issue for me), applies evenly and lasted about 6 hours without touch ups. Lips did not feel uncomfortable or heavy and did not get “gummy”.

While Wet Violet isn’t my everyday shade, I’m willing to invest in a different shade of TOM FORD ULTRA SHINE LIP GLOSS (maybe Rose Crush?) and may even get into the habit of retouching my lip gloss during the day just to expose myself to fabulousness more often.
