MEREADESSO REVIEWGreat Skin in Two Steps – I’m Not Joking

MEREADESSO PRODUCTS 2Simple is not the adjective I’d use to describe my approach to skin care. So the idea of using only two products is (to quote my favorite movie) “inconceivable”. How can you possibly achieve clear, glowing skin without a counter top full of bottles, tubes and jars?

Mèreadesso (a combination of mother, now, woman) as a brand, simply consists of five multitasking products including the All-In-One Moisturizer (aka Mereadesso Face + Neck Toning Gel) and Face + Neck Cleanser.

Color me skeptical, but I approached this review with caution – ready to ditch the experiment all together if even one little breakout appeared. The results? Aside from my utter amazement – clearer, calmer, glowing, glorious skin after one week. I’m not quite ditching my other products – but these two bottles have earned a long standing spot on my vanity.

IN THIS POST: My amazement, ingredient lists, two steps to glowing skin, before & after shots.

STEP ONE: Mèreadesso Face + Neck Cleanser

A non-foaming all-in-one makeup remover, mask, scrub and toner that will even conquer waterproof mascara. All skin types. (

PRICE DETAILS: $45 for 4 oz. ($11.25/oz.) $$$

TEXTURE & SCENT: Hybrid cleansing oil / cleansing milk texture with cucumber/floral fragrance which dissipates quickly. You will quickly learn to love the scent.

NOTES: The globally sourced ingredient blend includes botanical extracts and vitamins. Effective as a deep cleanser but gentle enough for use around the eye area. After rinsing, your face will be free of residue and perfectly prepped for our All-In-One Moisturizer. (

I haven’t had the best luck with cleansing milks. In theory, they are fantastic. They don’t strip your skin, they’re typically more gentle and it honestly just seems more glamorous. Joelle Ciocco Lait Onctueux Capital (Sensitive Cleansing Milk) is one of the few that I’ve successfully used – but at $84.20 for 3.38 oz. it did not have the ability to remove my waterproof eye makeup. Did I mention it was $84? That’s even crazy to me. But let me refocus:

Mèreadesso Face + Neck Cleanser is magic. Okay, not magic, but its close. Packed with Vitamin E, Rose Water, Aloe Vera, Jojoba, Grape Seed Oil and Cucumber Extract – the experience is much like a hybrid cleansing oil / cleansing milk. Four pumps massaged into dry skin and removed with a muslin cloth or baby washcloth (not the cloth it comes with) and warm water left my face clean and smooth without making my eyes burn or water. Did it remove my stubborn waterproof mascara? On most formulations – yes. Now if you pile on long-wear foundation and layers of mascara, you may not get the same result and need to follow up with another application or a foaming cleanser. No one step for you. Also, be sure to rinse with lots of water.

Note: I wear a BB Cream, Jane Iredale PurePressed Base (water resistant) and waterproof mascara on a daily basis.

Side Bar: I didn’t like the cloth it came with. After trying it several times – I didn’t like removing makeup with it and just rinsing it and using it again. It has the texture of a shami and didn’t rinse clean (you could still see the makeup on it). I use a gauze pad from Simone France or a muslin cloth (reusable) and find it to be more effective. My only suggestion would be to change the cloth to thinner muslin and ditch the plastic bag to really minimize packaging.

After using this AM & PM for a week with the moisturizer – my skin was remarkably more even toned and less irritated. No clogged pores (& less clogged pores), no breakouts, no dry spots, no rash. No kidding! Oh, and no raccoon eyes in the morning! I’ll be honest and say that I did wipe my face with toner a few times just to be sure (Thayers Alcohol-Free Unscented Witch Hazel w/ Organic Aloe Vera, $9.95) and the pad came out CLEAN. No gray dead skin residue, no dirt, no makeup. Amazing.

EXTRA: Let’s Talk About the Scent: Before I go further, let me state that I really love the scent of both products. They have a very fresh, cucumber-like aroma that doesn’t linger. However, while it isn’t strong or heavily perfumed, I did notice “fragrance” was listed as an ingredient. Since some clients are sensitive to fragrance and it might be a concern, I asked Mèreadesso representatives to address it. Here was their reply:

“Linda created the products to smell fresh, clean and very neutral. As you’ve probably noticed, the smell does dissipate after a few moments allowing your personal fragrance to be dominant. However, when talking about added fragrance the answer becomes a bit more of a tricky one. Many of the natural botanicals (cucumber, apple, bilberry extracts to name a few) have their own “scent”. A “fragrance” was added (of botanical extracts) to help balance the effect, but not take away from what they added. So, the concept of having a product with no scent at all would require the removal of some actives, or add a masking agent (which is actually a fragrance) and would affect the absorptivity/effectiveness of the product. Full ingredient listings are located on our website,”

STEP TWO: Mèreadesso All-In-One Moisturizer

A single-step solution for your face and neck full of incentive to toss every other moisturizer, toner, serum, primer, day cream, night cream and eye cream you own. (

PRODUCT RATING: ★★★★★★★★ (10/10)

PRICE DETAILS: $120 for 1.7 oz. ($70.59/oz.) $$$$

TEXTURE & SCENT: Lightweight gel-lotion with a cucumber/floral scent that dissipates quickly.

NOTES: This lightweight gel-lotion’s globally sourced ingredients include 16 botanical extracts, 8 minerals and enzymes and over 20 antioxidants. (

Considering my cosmetic background, I rarely used moisturizer. Through my 30’s, my skin leaned heavily toward the oily side of the combination skin spectrum and the step seemed, honestly, unnecessary. Most serums (which I love) were enough or most recently, a facial oil was my product of choice. So when I had to abandon my numerous elixirs for a single bottle of moisturizer – I was very skeptical.

LINDA STEPHENSONThe primary reason I was willing to give Mereadesso a try was because Linda Stephenson, the brains behind the brand, has an Honours degree in Chemistry and Biology, a minor in Botany and has worked for one of the world’s biggest cosmetic companies – overseeing product development. Impressive to say the least. I figured she must know what she’s talking about – even if I find the concept of “learning to live with less” crazy when it comes to skin care. Consider me corrected.

Mèreadesso All-In-One Moisturizer is crazy. Crazy fabulous. I know, I know –  I love a lot of products, but this one is a major game changer for me. The moisturizer has a concentrated, lightweight, gel/lotion texture that smells clean and fresh (the scent dissipates quickly and is primarily from botanicals), leaves the skin’s surface perpetually moist (not greasy), works incredibly under foundation or BB Cream, keeps skin hydrated ALL DAY (no more mid-day dehydration), doesn’t cause irritation or breakouts…shall I go on? Did I also mention you can use it around the eyes? I get a tiny bit on my fingertips and reapply around the eye area as an eye cream – it works great for that too! I can see a definite “perking” of my eyes in the B&A photos below.

Note: There was mention of an exfoliation effect (which may appear to be “balling” of the product) – this is actually the equivalent to a mini peel which approximately 20% of users may experience depending on their skin condition. This is temporary and easily removed with a warm wash cloth. As you continue with the regimen and your skin returns to its optimal condition, this effect will lessen and disappear.

Light enough for day and rich enough for night, Mèreadesso All-In-One surpassed any expectation I could have of a single product. Have I switched to just using two products? I’m not going to lie – serums, masks and scrubs are still part of my regular routine. However, All-In-One is definitely my go-to for AM moisture and when my skin is acting up (or I’m just too tired to fuss). This would certainly be the only product I take with me when I travel and one I would recommend to those willing to pay $120 (worth it). Amazed.

THE FINAL ROARTwo steps. That’s it! After a week of using only Mèreadesso Face + Neck Cleanser and the Mèreadesso All-In-One Moisturizer, I’m hooked. I haven’t completely given up my other products but I use the moisturizer (which is a product category I’ve always had trouble with) over my serums/treatments or alone with great results. This might not take the place of your active products but it supports increased circulation, cell renewal and reduction of fine lines & wrinkles. Bravo Linda Stephenson – you have impressed me and changed how I look at skin care. I’d ask you to make more products – but it seems it isn’t necessary.

1. Apply 4 pumps of Face+Neck Cleanser to face, neck and eye area (use a little extra around the eyes if you have on heavier eye makeup). Use a muslin cloth, baby washcloth or large gauze pad and warm water to remove the cleanser using circular and sweeping strokes. Pay close attention to around your nose and be sure to be gentle around the eyes. Rinse cloth and wipe face again. Rinse with at least 10 splashes of warm water.

2. Use 1 pump of All-In-One Moisturizer on slightly damp skin. Press and smooth onto skin. Don’t forget your neck and eye area. Use a tiny bit more product around the eyes or if you have dry skin. DONE.
